Your export

Last week's Tradovate trades, in four steps.

  1. Open the ≡ menu and choose Reports. Set Report Type to Orders, choose your account and last week's dates, and press GO.
  2. Download the report as CSV. Last week's Performance report, exported as CSV, is read too. Neither report has a commission column, so their results are before costs. For your costs, export the Fills report the same way: it has each fill's commission.
  3. Drop the file on the free Trade Check, or on Import in your account. It is read in your browser.
  4. Check what was read, set your rules, and see what breaking them cost you.

No file at hand? Type your last five trades into the free Trade Check, or get these steps by e-mail with one Sunday reminder.

What the import reads from it

  • In the Orders report, filled orders are grouped into trades per account and contract; a partly filled order counts for what filled.
  • Cancelled, rejected, working and expired orders are counted and left out.
  • In the Performance report, each row's buy and sell fills become one trade; the fill that came first decides long or short.
  • The Performance report's P&L is before fees and it has no fee column, so those results are before trading costs, and the import says so.
After the first week

Two minutes on Sunday. One minute a day.

1. Import your week

Sunday: drop the Tradovate export. Nothing to install, no broker login.

2. Close your day

Your closed trades against your rules, the room left under your firm's limit, one commitment for the next session.

3. Get your Weekly Rule Cost

Every Sunday: what your rule breaks cost, the rule you broke most, one focus for next week.

Questions

Before you drop the file.

Do I need an account?

Not for the free Trade Check: it reads your file in your browser and sends nothing. To keep the review week after week, save it to a free account. Every new account starts with 21 days of Pro, with no card.

Does it connect to my Tradovate account?

It doesn't need to: it reads the export you download. No broker login or password is asked.
